C.M.E.R.
FACULTY MEMBER was trained in classical ballet at the Rozann-Zimerman Ballet Center and the Pacific Northwest Ballet. She received her modern dance training in Limón and Horton technique from the University of California at Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. She also has received training in West African dance at the University of California, Los Angeles, under the guidance of Nzinga Camera. She received her Masters degree in Dance Movement Therapy at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has used body movement as a healing modality with a variety of clientele ranging from adults with psychosis to severely emotionally disturbed children. In her practice she uses different forms of creative expression (movement, music, art, poetry and drama) to help increase self-awareness and promote the integration of body, mind, and spirit. Currently, she is the Dance Movement Therapist for Aviva Family and Children's Services, a girl's residential facility in Hollywood. She has also been a Pilates instructor for over five years. Recently, she completed her first book, "Kinecting; Healing Your Child Through Kinetic Interaction" which was recently considered for publication by Regeneration Publishing. |
