FACULTY MEMBER Nancy Gurian is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT), and a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT). She has worked primarily in both acute and sub acute inpatient psychiatric settings, and was co-founder and facilitator of a Partial Hospitalization program, where the creative arts were a primary therapeutic modality. Nancy spent a year in Israel working with art and dance therapists in a variety of settings, with young children, adolescents and adults with special needs. She has supervised MFT interns, as well as trainees at the JFK University Counseling Center, who were part of the creative arts program in Psychology. Nancy has been an active member of an educational and experiential seminar facilitated by Joan Chodorow, BC-DMT, PhD for the last 8 years, and currently works on acute inpatient units evaluating new admissions, making treatment recommendations, and arranging out-patient support. |
