Janice Meaden

Janice Meaden is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst (CLMA) and is recognized internationally as a teacher of Laban/Barteneiff Movement Studies (LMA) and Developmental Movement Patterning. She is known for her creative approaches to movement education and holds a Masters of Arts in Education with a focus on transformational learning and creativity. Janice is a co-founder of Integrated Movement Studies (IMS), a training team of Certified Laban/Barteneiff Movement Analysts that have creatively taught and certified movement professionals in the Laban/Bartenieff material for 24 years. She is Director and core faculty of the masters level Integrated Movement Studies Certificate Program in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies at the University of Utah, a program that offers professional certification as a Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst.

Janice is trained in Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen's Body-Mind Centering (BMC) and integrates this body of knowledge and approach to somatics into her classes and private practice. She is a Registered Movement Therapist and maintains a private practice in Santa Barbara, California, facilitating clients in exploring and finding efficient movement patterning, expressivity and aliveness in their embodiment.
