"INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP
IN DANCE/MOVEMENT THERAPY"

This workshop is intended for individuals who would
like an introduction to the basic concepts of dance/movement therapy.
Students, dancers, therapists, and those interested in the transformative
elements of creative movement experience are welcome. No prior movement
experience is necessary. This course meets the qualifications for
7 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required
by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider #3888).
Course Description:
This day long workshop will introduce participants to dance/movement
therapy as a creative arts therapy modality. The history of the field
will be discussed along with the major tenets of mind/body integration,
nonverbal communication and emotional expressive movement. The process
of finding personal meaning in thoughtful embodied experience will be
explored through movement experientials, lecture presentations and educational
films.

Course Goals:

overview of the field. |

that highlight basic   dance/movement
therapy concepts. |

Participants will learn
how emotional experiences impact body functioning. |

Participants will increase awareness of their
non-verbal expressive style. |

Course Location:
The Loyola Marymount University (LMU) campus is located in West Los
Angeles.
The workshop location is a 15 minute drive from Los Angeles
International Airport (LAX).

Course Registration and Fee:
Registration on or before December 1st: $175.00*
Registration after December 1st: $200.00
*a $75.00 deposit must be received to hold your
space and is due by Dec.1st
Refund Policy:
A course fee deposit is due at the time an application
is submitted.
The deposit holds your place in the course. Deposits not used for a given course
may be applied to other courses, but are not refunded for lack of attendance.
If a course is cancelled, your deposit will be returned. CMER reserves the right
to cancel classes due to insufficient registration. Final decisions regarding
the status of each class are usually made two weeks before the scheduled start
date. Before making flight arrangements, please contact CMER to be sure enough
people have registered for the course.
