KMP MOVEMENT OBSERVATION/ASSESSMENT COURSE Instructor: Susan Loman, MA, ADTR, NCC Kestenberg Movement Profile (KMP) is a unique study of non-verbal behavior that looks at the rhythms and shape forms in human movement to understand human development, communication and learning styles. This work is one of the most comprehensive movement assessment tools available. It was developed by Dr. Judith Kestenberg and colleagues. This course meets the qualifications for
20 hours of continuing education credit for Course Description: Dance/movement therapists and
those trained in the KMP can apply its concepts in their clinical/educational
work by designing treatment plans and implementing appropriate interventions
based on the individual's movement portrait. Goals include helping
the individual assess healthy choices and coping skills through accessing
strengths and broadening them.

About the instructor: Director of the MA Program in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling and is Associate Chair of the Department of Applied Psychology at Antioch University New England, Keene New Hampshire. Considered an expert on the Kestenberg Movement Profile (KMP), she worked with Judith Kestenberg for eight years. She was former Chair of the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) Education Committee and serves on the Editorial Board of The Arts in Psychotherapy. |
